I help people become more effective at what they want to do through a powerful combination of coaching and successful strategies, especially better Time Management.
In a nutshell, I help clients to:
In The Beginning
Prior to setting up my own coaching practice in 2007 I had no previous business experience. I’d emerged years earlier from The University of Cambridge trained as a secondary school teacher, so when I first began coaching I initially avoided coaching for businesses, instead focusing on personal life coaching.
My coaching clients, however, had different ideas and I constantly found myself being hired by my personal clients, (who were often white collar professionals like solicitors, senior teachers and accountants), to work with the companies that they either owned or in which they worked in the upper echelons.
Businesses Are People
My initial lack of ‘business knowhow’ allowed me to ask the sort of questions that most other industry trained professionals would not dare ask – perhaps because of an implied understanding or a fear of asking a ‘silly question’. It surprised me more than anyone but my outsider style generated results that speak for themselves. So plenty of satisfied clients later (and also having completed relevant professional training) I happily juggle work as a business and personal coach, secure in the knowledge that I continually bring real value and benefits to my clients.
(In the same vein I’m not a doctor either but my GP refers patients to me for coaching because of the beneficial impact that solution focused thinking can have on an individual’s health! Who’d have thunk it?)
My Philosophy
I firmly believe that individuals are capable of achieving great things, and that at a team or organisational level, these individual efforts and achievements can be massively amplified.
My coaching approach fosters an ethos of responsibility and opportunity, and I strive to instil in myself and others, an attitude that promotes excellence as a habit.
That’s my style of coaching and it might be just right for you. If however you’re looking for particular advice, mentoring within a specific industry or a magic bullet then you will probably need to look elsewhere.
